Wedding Templates & Lists

I am a list person.
I have now become a CRAZY list bride. Just ask my Maid of Honor...
I've been so paranoid trying to create different checklists so that I don't forget ANYTHING on the wedding day.

I've found these pre-made wedding checklists that I would LOVE to share with you!!
With all of my vendors booked, the details of the big day are the last to be taken care of.

One thing that has been a life saver during this wedding planning process, is the monthly checklist from The Knot.
You can seriously find these checklists in every bridal magazine.
However, The Knot has the most extensive list. AND you're easily able to ADD things to the checklist, or REMOVE tasks you may not need!
For example, I am not using a D.J. at my wedding. Fiance and I have chosen to use an iPod to play our music (This saves money and isn't incredibly annoying!). I was able to add the task of "create my iPod playlist" to the checklist, and remove "book a D.J."

This is another great website with tons of Pre-made wedding templates
I may not use these templates exactly, but I am definitely taking aspects from these to create my own!
For example, I love the bridal party checklists BUT they have it pre-made for a bridal party of 10 people....I have a 12 person bridal party. So I will just make my own checklist, but add all of the info from their's.

Which I did!

Scratch off Save-the-dates!

This idea is adorable!!

Etsy shop Unlesssomeonelikeyou creates customized scratch off save-the-dates!

I would totally do this for my wedding except we're getting our invites/save-the-dates free...Fiance's dad has a print shop = )

But someone should take advantage of this!

As a bridesmaid....

would you rather the bride gave you a special gift, such as a necklace/bracelet?
would you rather the bride paid for you to get your nails/hair/makeup done the day of the wedding?

Picture Prop!

I found a broken dirty mirror at my Grandmother's house, and decided to spruce it up!
After cleaning it up, and removing the backing/mirror......here it is!

Maybe a possible photo prop?

I have also seen couples hang beautiful frames in front of the cake....but I can't seem to find a picture of that = /

Just a little hint...

The best way to keep the cost of the wedding down.....is to keep the guest list small!
The smaller your guest list is means fewer chairs, fewer tables, fewer centerpieces, and fewer plates of food.....Do you see what I'm saying?
By all means don't leave off your loved ones, but just think twice before inviting your parents bingo buddies...or your college roommate that you haven't spoken to in years.
That is your helpful little tidbit of the day!

Attention newlyweds(or not-so new):

I'm really curious to find out how newly married couples are displaying their wedding photos and memories.
I hate the thought of paying hundreds or even thousands of dollars for beautiful pictures that are just going to tucked away in an album!
Some people have told me that they think it is tacky to display wedding photos throughout your house. I couldn't believe it! It's your home and it should be decorated to please your husband and you! No one else!

So tell me...
Do you have a wedding shrine?
Have you arranged your photographs in a clever way?
Is there giant blown up photo of you and your hubby hanging above your fireplace?
Have you gone the subtle route and only framed one or two small pictures?
What have you done with all of the pretty cards you received?
Did you save and display your save-the-dates or invitations?
Did you preserve your wedding bouquet?
Are your photos designated to one room or scattered throughout your home?

Please share with me what you have done in your own home!...or what you plan to do!

House of Brides

For the past month or so I've been on the hunt for the perfect bridesmaid dress for my girls to wear.
I had one in mind, and when we went to the Wedding Accessory Superstore to try it on...it looked AMAZING...but WAY out of our budget! I just feel really guilty asking my bridesmaids to pay an arm and a leg for a dress they may only wear once.

From that point on I've tried so hard to get that gorgeous dress out of my head. We tried on other dresses, but nothing really came close.
I then decided that instead of trying to forget about the dress, I would call around to other bridal shops to see if MAYBE someone else had it cheaper.
I was extremely disappointed to find out that the other salons were actually MORE expensive. Well that was the end of that.

Later that evening I went to dinner at my parents home. My mom came to me and said she had great news. It turns out that she found the dress online for HALF of what the salons were selling it for!
The website is called House of Brides, and it's the largest online bridal store.

Check it out, and let me know what you think. = )

I'm back.....and Engaged = )

Over Christmas break the love of my life proposed to me in New York City! Our first night in the city we decided to take a romantic carriage ride around Central Park. With hot chocolate warming us up, we happily took in the beautiful city lights. After our ride, my love asked me to take a walk down by the ice skating rink where he then asked me to marry him.
I'm so excited to share my life with his, and finally plan our gorgeous wedding for March 9th, 2012!

Since the engagement, I have become even more wedding obsessed than I was before...so far I have my dress, a possible venue, and a possible photographer.
I have decided to keep my wedding plans top secret, but when it's all over I will gladly share everything!

But let me leave you with this little bit of inspiration from Ruffled....

Chandeliers?...Yes, please!
